Q: What was the inspiration behind starting Thought?
A: We want to spread the joy of dressing more sustainability. Feel good clothes that bring joy to women by making them look and feel fabulous. We’re absolutely passionate about spreading this message. You can look and feel fantastic while making small decisions that have a lasting impact on our planet
Q: Thought is known for its creativity. Which of your products is your go-to and why?
A: We LOVE being creative - one of the bonuses of being a small business is that it allows us to shape our own path - that means painting our prints, developing our colours, working with our team in a very close knit, creative way. It’s a driving passion for me in particular. My go to products have to be our dresses, I LIVE in them - we’re famous for dresses that fit and flatter, come in beautiful prints and colours and can suit any occasion. Honestly i can’t recommend them enough! Go and try one, you won’t be disappointed.
Q: Do you have any advice for people who are looking to shop more consciously, and for brands looking to become more sustainable?
A: Look to the small changes that you can make that add up to a difference and act on them - change your toothbrush, look at your body soap - could you change from liquid to a bar of soap? Small actions add up to making a big annual impact so don’t let the guilty feeling of not doing ‘enough’ get in the way of making small and meaningful changes.
Q: With a successful business, finding down-time can be tough but important. What are your favourite things you do to relax?
A: We have 3 small children to throw into the mix and I run the business with my husband so the combination certainly keeps us on our toes. We’re a house that loves cooking and eating food! My husband is a huge fan of Pasta Evangelists so thats always on our weekly menu, and then getting fresh air, being mindful about how we spend our downtime - all helps towards making us resilient and able to operate at a high level day in day out.
Q: We heard you recently went to Italy, were there any stand-out places or dishes from your trip?
A: As Aussie expats living in London - WE LOVE ITALY. We’ve been to so many remarkable places and our most visited is Sardinia - the beaches, the swimming and relaxed atmosphere is just right for us and the kids love it. For my husband its pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner - with maybe a little pizza thrown into the mix for good measure!
