Date: Saturday 16th November
Time: 13:00 - 16:00
For the first time ever, we are teaming up with our East London neighbour The Curtain Hotel & Members Club to bring you a pasta experience you won’t forget. Known for its creative soul, The Curtain is the perfect setting to grab a martini, roll up your sleeves and get making.
Hosted in the dazzling Burbage Ballroom, the masterclass will explain the fundamentals of Italian pasta-making and show you what makes the centuries-old craft of making pasta by hand so special.
You’ll create your own sfoglia (traditional egg pasta dough) which you’ll use to make thick, hand cut ribbons of tagliatelle and, as a special festive twist, a few regional variations on the typical Christmas primi, filled-pasta stuffed with creamy Italian burrata and earthy truffle.
As our Head Sfoglina (pasta chef) is from Puglia, she will also demonstrate how to create handmade pasta bianca (white pasta or pasta without egg), such as orecchiette (“little ears”) and cavatelli (a Puglian gnocchi), which are typical of her hometown - bellissimo!
- A very Italian aperitivo with a complimentary martini fiero and a rustic antipasti spread with cured meats, cheeses and olives
- Learn how to make up to five types of pasta from scratch in the style of the Italian pastai, from traditional egg pasta to pasta bianca
- A pasta tasting supper club, hosted in The Curtain’s Burbage room
- Take home your pasta creations to enjoy with family and friends, along with a bespoke Italian Christmas Lunch menu so you can recreate typical Christmas specialities at home
The workshop is suitable for all levels. The fresh pasta supper club will be prepared with seasonal Pasta Evangelists sugo (sauce) so please advise us of any dietary requirements at email@example.com.
Advance booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Once your booking has been processed, we will deliver your ticket(s) via email. For any other questions regarding the event e.g. transport, parking, accommodation, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
