Date: Friday 12th February
Time: 17:00-18:00
Location: Zoom Video
Why not celebrate this valentines day by experiencing a glimpse of enchanting Veneto! In this masterclass, you’ll learn to craft a classic dish - a romantic themed pasta from the region, under the guidance of our skilled pastaio (pasta maker), Chef Roberta.
In the small town of Valeggio Sul Mincio, every year they celebrate the legendary Festa del Nodo d'Amore (the feast of the love knot). The legend tells of a valiant knight who fell in love with a nymph of the river Minico. To pursue his love he plunged into the waters, disappearing forever with his beloved. No trace of the knight was ever found, apart from his knotted silk handkerchief which drifted back ashore. Ever since, the town of Valeggio remembers their love by cooking Tortelinni. The gentle weaving of the pasta around the filling symbolizes the knotted handkerchief found washed up on the shores!
