You have our friends at Pizza Pilgrims to thank for this mouth-watering recipe. Inspired by their hottest new ‘Double Pepperoni & Spicy Honey’ serve, we’ve taken a detour east of Italy and sourced the finest pepperoni in the pizza-verse: Hungarian Properoni®. Pizza Pilgrims pepperoni of choice, Properoni® have pioneered traditional smoked cured meats since 1868, and won international awards for over 150 years for their superior ingredients, lack of preservatives and incomparable craftsmanship. Produced in the oldest and most renowned factory in the striking Hungarian town of Gyula, no shortcuts are taken whilst the meat develops its signature smokey-ness from natural fermentation.
To replicate that addictive Pizza Pilgrims combo of sweet, spice and meaty savoury, and chewy-crunchy texture, we’ve caramelised our Properoni® in chili-infused honey. To finish, we’ve paired our pizza-inspired sauce with spaghetti, the perfect vehicle for capturing every last drop of the intensely meaty sauce. A generous sprinkling of charred pizza crust crumb will transport you to pizza-pasta heaven.
Note: Please consume or freeze our pasta and sauces within 2 days of delivery.
- Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Salt the water (around ½tbsp per litre).
- Cook the pasta in boiling water for 2 minutes. Stir regularly to prevent sticking.
- Whilst the pasta cooks, put the sauce in a pan and add 3 tbsp (40ml) of the boiling pasta cooking water. Take care to ensure you squeeze all the sauce from the pouch. Gently heat until steaming.
- Lift the pasta out of the water and transfer to the sauce. Toss gently to coat and let it cook together for an extra minute.
- Sprinkle over the cheese and pizza crumb. Serve immediately. Buon appetito!
